Contemporary Art
Judy’s contemporary paintings are defined by bold color, allegorical imagery, and layered storytelling that invite viewers to look beyond the surface. Throughout her career, she has exhibited widely in solo and group shows, with her work featured in Artweek and other publications. A recipient of both the Louis Comfort Tiffany and Marin Arts Council grants, Judy's paintings are held in private collections nationwide and continue to resonate for their depth, vitality, and timeless vision. She continues to create new work, with recent exhibitions earning critical recognition.
Her paintings are allegories. They are meant to stir questions, to open doors of perception, and to hold up a mirror to our participation in the world around us.
“I paint to explore feelings and perceptions - observations and navigations that reflect both wonder and conflict. In each work, I seek to embody those moments of unanswerable questioning that shape human experience. Through creative action, I believe these energies take form and come alive with a vitality that is palpable. Painting is my way of transforming those tensions into beauty, color, and story.”
